Dreambert and Bedsmith, two Pi’illo creatures, wake up one morning with no memory of who they are, where they are, or how they got there. They find themselves in a strange house in a strange town, feeling lost and confused. Just as panic sets in, a strange man named Wonky appears, claiming to be their father. He suggests that they must have passed out the night before while watching television, but before he can say anything more, the situation takes a turn for the worse. A creature named Starlow, a Star Sprite, arrives, claiming to be their friend. He says they were planning to spend time together, but Dreambert and Bedsmith have no memory of him or any such plans. Reluctantly, they follow Starlow outside, unsure of their surroundings. They wander around the town, appearing as if they don’t recognize their surroundings or Starlow. Despite his confusion, Starlow continues to interact with them as if they have been friends for a long time. As he introduces them to his surroundings, Starlow patiently explains their supposed friendship and their names, trying to calm them down. However, Dreambert and Bedsmith are still confused and unable to understand their past or their connection to Starlow. As the day progresses, Starlow becomes increasingly concerned and at first thinks that they are just pretending to forget. But as their strange behavior continues, he begins to worry that there is something seriously wrong with their memories. By the end of the day, Starlow’s uncertainty deepens and he wonders if there is something else behind their forgetfulness. Dreambert and Bedsmith are sent back to the house where they first woke up, and Wonky – still pretending to be their father – offers them a strange-looking bed. Too tired and confused to protest, they settle in for the night. As they fall asleep, their minds are filled with questions about their identities, their pasts, and the reason for their sudden amnesia. The mystery of their lost memories remains unanswered as they drift into a restless sleep, uncertain of the future.
